With SoCal Open 2020 fast approaching and its likelihood uncertain at this time, we’ve devised a “Plan B” scenario for running the 40k Narrative Event. Should SoCal Open 2020 be cancelled, we will be running an online narrative event instead. But what does that mean for you?
Here’s a quick breakdown of the plan…
- First and foremost, if you have a ticket to the narrative event at SoCal Open, you will be considered first on the list for sign-ups for the online event. Your ticket will include a “plus one” so that you can play with whoever! The event will be free.
- Each attendee will need a partner to play with. Whether this is at your home or a safe location locally is up to you. If you’re thinking about signing up, think about who you will play with now.
- You and your opponent (or multiple opponents if you know more people in your “bubble” that are signing up to play) will all be grouped into factions to fight for, each game you play will be earning XP for your Crusade force as well as battling for the control of a region on the world map!
- The event will be spread over two weekends. Each week will consist of two games in one day with missions and special events sent to you directly on our event Discord server. After the day’s games, we will be collecting small battle reports from each battle and forging a narrative. You can expect to see your heroic deeds on display on the event page, and we may have some other special surprises such as a live broadcast on Twitch detailing the battle for Zephyrs underway.
If we move forward with the online event, we will be posting a sign-up page and contacting those who signed up for SoCal Open 2020 directly.
There are more details yet to come in regards to missions and factions, but we wanted to give our players a chance to plan ahead for the possibility of an online event.
